Guide To San Francisco

Everyone loves the city by the bay.   So when you travel to San Francisco you have to stay by the water.  The Argonaut Hotel is a great place to stay.  One of the cutest boutique hotels in the city.  The whole hotel is Sailor themed with perfectly decorated rooms.  Also, it is kid and pet friendly!  Upon arrival your children got to snag a treasure out of the treasure box.  The hotel was in a perfect location, right by Ghirardelli square and just a quick walk to Pier 39.  Once you have checked in, here is your guide to San Francisco.

Golden Gate Bridge

There are two great spots to see the bridge.  The more kid friendly option is Baker beach.  It would be a great place for kids to play with easy access from a parking lot.  The second view is the Golden Gate Bridge state park.  There is a semi hidden parking lot that has a better view then the actual state park lot.  It’s off of Lincoln Blvd. near the battery E trail.

Fisherman’s Wharf/Pier 39

Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier 39 are so cool.  You can see the seals, people watch, and check out all the little shops.  Grab popcorn from a street vendor, visit a lonely crab who’s about to be someones dinner at the local eating spots.  Be sure to grab breakfast at Boudin.

Ghirardelli Square

Ghirardelli Square is a must for an after dinner treat.  The desserts are a little costly, but so good.  Share an ice cream sundae with your family, pick up some chocolates to take back home and enjoy the view of the bay.

Ride The Original Cable Car

Cable Cars San Francisco

Right outside of the Ghirardelli Square is the starting point for the original cable car.  This is a fun ride to take you downtown to shop at Nordstrom.   You will want to be sure to have a jacket because it can be chilly.

China Town

The biggest and most well known China Town is worth the trip.  All of the little stores are fun to window shop.  You can get parasols, little coin purses and a lucky cat.  A fun afternoon adventure and don’t forget to grab Chinese food while you are there.

The second largest Nordstrom in the country.  Taking only second to their headquarters in Seattle.  It’s a shopaholics dream come true.  You may want to set aside some spending money and then use a triple points day on your Nordstrom card.

The Painted Ladies

All the children from the 90’s know this at the Full House.  This is actually a great place to visit with kids because it is across the street from a big grass area and a nice park with great views of the city.  It’s also great stop for a nice picnic with your significant other.

 Lombard Street

Something that you just have to see when you are in San Francisco.  The fun winding street that San Francisco is known for.  You have to stop for the photo opp.

Another tourist stop that you must make.  Learn the history and stand in the very stalls that used to house some of the countries most dangerous criminals.
